Faith in every footstep!

Here are the awesome families of Company D. Everyone pulled and pushed and cooked and cleaned up and sang and worked and played together. We think it was the only true company in the group -- just kidding. Everybody in the whole ward was great.

We camped the first two nights at the Sixth Crossing campground. This is where the rescue party met the Willie Handcart Company. Unfortunately the handcart company couldn't stop there but had to keep going over Rocky Ridge to meet the rescue wagons at Rock Creek Hollow.

Tally ho! Grant and the Drapers pulling one of the company's three handcarts.

Can't you just feel the love! We had the cute cute Matthews twins in our company and they were so fun to watch.

Look close -- the handcarts stretch clear across the horizon. If our ward trek had been a real pioneer handcart company, it would have been the third largest.

We were blessed with beautiful weather including a gorgeous sunset on Thursday night.

On Friday we moved on to Rock Creek Hollow. Thirteen persons were frozen to death in one night and buried here in one common grave. Two more died the next day and were buried nearby.

This monument is dedicated to the Riverton Stake for their second rescue, the temple work they accomplished for the handcart pioneers. The stone has the dates that Pres. Hinckley, Pres. Faust, and Pres. Monson visited Rock Creek Hollow.

This trek was an incredible experience. We are so blessed to have the heritage of so many people who sacrificed everything so that we could live in this country with the restored gospel. Blessed, honored pioneers!
