SNOWBIRD!!

Another fun week at Snowbird,
one of my most favorite places on earth!
I look forward to coming back all year long!
This year I made patriotic pillowcases
for the grandkids to celebrate the 4th of July
I love the tram ride to the top of Mt. Baldy . . . and swimming!
The kids had lots of fun together.

The fish were biting . . .

sometimes.

I brought lots of craft projects to keep the grandkids busy.

It's fun to watch their creativity at work.
it's hard to believe that these cute tote bags are
cereal boxes,
mod podge,
and scrapbook paper

and even Grandpa and Uncle Greg
got into the craft sceneI love being in the mountains!
A week at Snowbird can be exhausting . . .

and really sweet!

We topped off the week with
Baby Dallin's blessing in Twin Falls, Idaho.

counting the days until next year!

Going Ape for Grant!

Umm, do I know you? This friendly guy showed up at Texas Road House
to give Grant a happy birthday hug! A little monkey business was afoot because,
actually, he came to surprise one of their cooks
and we were there celebrating Grant's birthday.
The big ape wanted Grant to have a happy birthday, too.
Valerie and I didn't dare get close to him (her?), but Ty and the kids were good sports and got in the picture. They were visiting us from Las Vegas so came to dinner to help us celebrate.
Happy big hairy birthday, Grant!

Playing at Stella's house

Right now it's 55 degrees in SLC and only 29 degrees in Milwaukee. But it's nice and warm in Stella's house and we're having so much fun. She's a really good baby girl and is sooooo sweet! I'm so glad I've had this chance to get to know her!

One of the many stories about Haiti

Two of my co-workers are friends of this couple who have been trying to adopt these two children from Haiti for two years. He's down there now with the little boy but doesn't know where the little girl is yet. Follow their story on their blog http://countdowntohomecoming.blogspot.com/
It's quite the story. I'm adding my prayers to those going out for these children, the adoptive parents, the rescue and aid workers, and so many other people who are going through so much in Haiti.

Elder L. Tom Perry and me!

It was so neat to meet Elder Perry today. Hespoke at the devotional and then spent time with anybody who wanted to meet him and shake his hand. I was so impressed.
