Tuacahn!

Wow! Tuacahn in St. George! On Friday night Ruth and I saw "The Sound of Music" and on Saturday night we saw "Les Mis". Fabulous! The performances were amazing and we got to mingle with the cast after the shows.

Sorry -- I haven't figured out how to put all of the following collages into one post, so just pretend that the next 3 posts are in this one. All in all it was a very fun weekend trip to St. George.

We arrived in St. George in time to join Mylee's 1-year-old birthday party in the park. Happy birthday, Mylee!

Saturday in the park

Here are Jen's kids playing in the water. What can be more fun than kids and water on a 100 degree day?

Staying in Style

Our accommodations in St. George were better than 5 star in Ruth's & Ryan's beautiful new "cottage". Thanks for the fun time!

Bird Wars

So Grant and I were eating dinner on the patio tonight peacefully watching this hummingbird . . .

. . . when this one came up and started dive bombing the other one.

Bam! They were really going after each other and squawking and making a terrible ruckus. I checked them out on the internet and found this:
Q: Why are my hummers so hateful? All they do is fight.
A: They are extremely territorial. More feeders, out of sight of each other, can help.

This one almost got me while I was taking pictures!

They would catch a quick sip from the feeder . . .

. . . or the flowers and then they were at it again.

Can't we just all get along?

Family Reunion!

Here are a few pictures from the Isaac and Leah Bailey Dunford reunion of 2008. For more pictures, click here

The great Isaac & Leah Bailey Dunford reunion is held every 3rd year in Bloomington, Idaho. Isaac & Leah left England in 1853 to settle in the mountains of America with the saints. In 1865 they answered the call to move again and settle in the Bear Lake valley. Isaac and his sons built this brick home and moved in in 1877. Look close -- the initials ID are in the brick.

We gathered at the cemetery and reminisced about our wonderful ancestors.

and enjoyed being with family members.

It's always worth a trip up Bloomington Canyon to visit Bloomington Lake. So picturesque.

Here are some of Oliver Cowdery Dunford's and his wife Ida Ann Osmond's descendants, my grandparents.

And here are the descendants of Os and Venna, my parents, who were there. We loved being together! Can't wait for the 2011 reunion!

July was Jeremy month!

Many thanks to the University of Utah who gave Jeremy a rotation studying pain management! We were able to have him around for the month of July! It was so fun! We got in as many rounds of Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, hand & foot and Wii as we could. Jeremy got in some golfing with his brother Chris and his friends, too.Thomas sure loved having his Uncle J around. He even got to go on the big boys outing with his dad and Jeremy -- golfing and then to Tucano's.
It does a mother's heart good to see her sons have fun together.
Bye, Jer! We'll miss you! Glad you have Jamie to go home to. We wish she could have been here, too.
